My best weekend recipe ever.
Here are the directions:
Apple cider donut. Bought from local orchard.
Apple cider. Heated and stirred.
Just-picked crispy apples. Cut.
Don't you love such simple recipes?
And it's just so good.

You know the saying, "an apple a day keeps the doctor away"? I heartily embrace this wisdom and happily endulge.
Apples were part of my post-long-run smoothie yesterday after running a very long run. It was my last one before the taper and that makes me want to weep with relief. But also, strangely, I miss the anticipation of the next long run. It is not a lonely thing. Rather, the most peaceful part of the day.
I feel great today, after having consumed so many apples in so many different variations. I have a whole post brewing on how Amy Ran That Many Miles, because when I look at my watch, I can hardly believe it myself.
